Black Phoebe
Dawn to dusk, he works the yard looking for insects to feed his offspring.
Depending on the size of the preys, an average of three to four insects is enough for him to fly back to his nest to feed the young. A few minutes later, he is back at his favorite first perch, scanning the field for his targets in the air or on the ground. He rarely makes any noise when perching or hunting, although a sharp fainted sound can be heard when his bills clap to catch a prey in the air.
He is a dedicated, hard working provider. He is a tyrant-flycatcher. He is a Black Phoebe.
