Patagonian fox (Lycalopex griseus)
It's also known as South American gray fox, chilla or gray zorro. They are found in both sides of Argentine and Chilean Andes. They were introduced to Falkland Islands in late 1920s to early 1930s.
I spent a very bad weather day at this part of Weddell island trying to photograph this fox's family. The wind gust was over 30 knots and the rain kept coming and going. Trying to hand-hold a 600 mm lens in this weather condition was really tough. I have not done it before but by some magic, I pulled it through.
To find this location and to prepare for the shoot, I am in debt to Andrew, Monica and Bryan at Weddell settlement. The long and beautiful story about their willingness to support me to fulfill my quest needs to be told!
